The Solution

Blog Post By: Alumni Relations Specialist

We were powerless. We had to find a power greater than ourselves, and when we did, miracles happened. On page 25 in the 4th edition of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, it reads,  “The great fact is just this, and nothing less: That we have had deep and effective spiritual experiences which have revolutionized our whole attitude toward life, toward our fellows and toward God’s universe. The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way that is indeed miraculous. He has commenced to accomplish those things for us which we could never do by ourselves.”

We must know that when we are doubting the direction of our life, if we are unsure of the path to take, if we are struggling in our current situation, this is when we turn to God, ask for His direction, and trust that He is preparing us for something truly miraculous. The miracle of sobriety has already happened, and in our sobriety, when we rely on His strength and guidance, we will know we are blessed.
