Strengthen your recovery during this unique summer

Utilize increased free time during the summer months to engage in new activities and explore new ways to improve your physical and mental well-being.
Remember, if you are not having fun in recovery, you are doing
it wrong!
Spirituality and meditation practice
Reserve ten minutes each morning to express gratitude. Start your day in serenity to expand your meditation practice. Through meditation and mindfulness, you will strengthen your spirituality.
Healthy from head to toe
Start a diet and exercise routine now. Summer means outdoors, fresh fruits and vegetables. It is a perfect time to develop an active healthy lifestyle.
Fresh air fun
Try a new outdoor sport. Have you ever wanted to kayak, golf, play tennis, or even bike? Sports activities are a fantastic way to spend the summer.
Clearing the clutter from inside to out
If you are looking to stay inside and out of the heat, start cleaning your clutter. Start in one room de-clutter, re-organize, and clean. Next, move to another room. By the end of summer your house will feel like new.
Healthy hobbies
There are many hobbies that encourage you to explore and expand your mind. Do not be afraid to experiment. If you enjoy the outdoors; garden, learn to fish, or get in touch with nature. More of a beat the heat and staying in person? You can try a new recipe, learn a new language, knit, sew or do some woodwork. A new hobby is sure to enhance your summer fun and support recovery.
Do it yourself for yourself
Painting, photography, writing, crafts oh my! Use the summer as an inspiration for you to DIY. Get creative and you may find a hidden talent.
Open a book and kick your feet up
Turn off the TV, put down the cell phone, and read. Spend a few minutes in a relaxing area where you can open up a good book and just read.
Remember that recovery will empower you to have some summer fun while staying focused on your sobriety journey and avoiding relapse.
