Seabrook Has Stamp of Approval from LegitScript

Seabrook is now LegitScript certified, which means we’re now able to promote our services and help more families find the courage to begin the recovery journey toward lasting sobriety.

After several “misleading experiences” related to searches for addiction treatment, Google implemented new restrictions for addiction treatment providers, mutual support groups and crisis hotlines looking to advertise on websites, search pages and apps.

These restrictions were cheered by health officials: “People don’t always know what good treatment is,” Dr. Vivek Murthy, who published an oft-cited report last year that warned of the nation’s addiction crisis, told The New York Times. “I am glad Google took steps to prevent the spread of these false ads.” The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse also support these new rules.

Specifically, drug and alcohol addiction centers are now required to undergo an intensive vetting process overseen by Portland-based LegitScript, a company created to make the internet and payment ecosystems “safer and more transparent.” To become LegitScript certified, which is recognized by Google, Seabrook had to pass criminal background checks, show that we’re fully licensed and carry valid insurance and submit “written policies and procedures” demonstrating our commitment to industry best practices, effective recovery and continuous improvement.

These extra steps are a testament to our ability to provide quality and comprehensive care when helping you or someone you love recover from a substance use disorder.
