Prosecutors in New Jersey look to Legalize Marijuana

To date, 20 states including the District of Columbia have enacted laws to allow people to use medical marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation. Two of those states- Colorado and Washington- have legalized marijuana for recreational use. Under federal law, marijuana is still illegal but more states are looking to legalize it, including New Jersey. The New Jersey State Municipal Prosecutors Association in Hamilton has come out in favor of legalizing the possession of marijuana. Among many reasons stated, it would bring in tax revenue.
