Overdose Reversal Kits Now Available to All U.S. High Schools

A new initiative announced this past Monday by the Clinton Foundation makes an emergency opioid overdose reversal kit of every United States high school that wants it.

The emergency opioid overdose reversal kit, also known as Naloxone or Narcan, is produced by Adapt Pharma. This company partnered with the Clinton Foundation to expand the access to the life-saving antidote. Having this kit on high school campuses is critical because there have been cases of overdoses on school grounds. Drugs are brought into schools and taken every day. Having this kit on hand can possibly save a life.

Adapt Pharma also recently awarded a grant to the National Association of School Nurses to support addiction education. School nurses can be key players in getting help for addicts at an early age. They see students on a daily basis and are able to recognize when behaviors among them change. If they suspect addiction in a student, they can get them help as early as possible.
