Demi Lovato Speaks Up
Demi Lovato was once so addicted to cocaine she would smuggle it onto the airplanes. The former Sonny with a Chance star doesn’t have any problems discussing her past substance abuse with anyone who’s willing to listen. Since the singer feels that her struggle to stay clean could help someone out in the world who’s going through the same thing, Lovato often speaks candidly about her struggles. “I couldn’t go 30 minutes to an hour without it [cocaine], and I would bring it on airplanes. I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep, and I would do it right there. I’d even sneak to the bathroom and do it.”
Demi realized that her behavior was no longer that of a rebellious and young teenager when she was 19 and on the way to the airport. The singer had gotten sick on the car ride to the airport because she was drinking an entire Sprite bottle filled with vodka. She added that she realized her problem had swelled to outrageous proportions when she was left to battle these problems on her own. Demi decided to seek treatment for her addiction and has been telling her story every since.
