School Teacher fired after Drug Charge

A Florida School Board has fired an Elementary School teacher, who was charged with possessing cocaine and drug paraphernalia on campus. The teacher has pleaded not guilty. The Sheriff’s Office arrested her after a school counselor found a small bag containing a white powder suspected to be cocaine, and a straw cut to the length of a few inches, inside her purse in her classroom. The board voted unanimously last week to fire the teacher, who was in her first year with the school district.
