Former Phillies Pitcher Supports Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Dickie Noles pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1980’s and in Major League Baseball for 16 years total. He currently works as an assistance director for the Phillies, but he is actively taking part in the drug and alcohol treatment fight, because he himself is a recovering alcoholic. Back in 1983, Noles entered the Chicago Northwest Medical Hospital for alcoholism treatment after drunkenly assaulting a police officer after a Chicago Cubs game.

Noles now travels the minor league circuit, counseling players on the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
