Whitney Houston’s Daughter Struggles

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of recently deceased Whitney Houston and her ex-husband Bobby Brown, is having a difficult time dealing with her mother’s death. Bobbi has grown up witnessing both of her parents struggle through substance abuse and drug addiction, and it appears that she has unfortunately taken the same path. Her friends and family are urging Bobbi to go to rehab because she has turned to drugs during this difficult time in her life.

The 18-year-old, who according to family sources was in rehab last year, has been hospitalized twice since her mother’s funeral on Saturday February 18th. A family source says “Krissy has taken her mother’s death really hard, not surprisingly, and Bobby is terrified she’s going to do something stupid. He wants her in a treatment center, getting professional help to get her through the grieving process without falling back on alcohol or drugs to mask her pain.” Given that both of her parents had addictions with cocaine, crack, marijuana, and alcohol and Bobbi Kristina had to naturally be exposed to their abuse on some level, this exposure has most certainly attributed to her current drug problems.

Grieving a lost loved one is an extremely difficult thing to deal with, especially an only child grieving the loss of her mother, but drug and alcohol abuse is a dangerous and unhealthy way to deal with it. Bobbi Kristina’s family and loved ones are encouraging her to get some professional help and hopefully that will help her avoid a damaging future of substance abuse that both of her parents have gone through. Drug rehab programs have proven to help patients find the strength to overcome abuse and chemical dependency through various treatments and therapies.
