Tortured Bodies Found in Drug-Related Killings

Mexican authorities have recently found the bodies of 16 slain people in a pickup truck in the state of Guerrero. Guerrero is where the tourist destination of Acapulco is located, though Mexican police have stated that they have not been able to identify the bodies so far. The 16 victims had all been shot and showed signs of torture, it was reported. They are believed to be drug-related killings motivated by the violent cartel warfare that has raged across Mexico in recent years.

The Mexican state of Guerrero has seen some of the highest death tolls in the drug fueled violence that has spiraled out of control. This death toll is something that many drug users don’t consider when beginning to use drugs. Abusing drugs, whether it’s marijuana, cocaine, heroin, meth, PCP, or prescription pills, often has a reputation as a “victimless crime.” However, as these gruesome murders show, that is anything but the truth. The only way to stop drug warfare is to stop providing a demand for the drugs, and the best way to stop the demand for drugs is to seek treatment.

If you have a problem with drug addiction or dependence, you should seek help now before your habit leads to someone’s death. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center.
