New Jersey Woman Drives into Police Car

Recently, a 68-year-old New Jersey woman crashed her car into the back of a stopped police car. Authorities say alcohol was involved. The woman was driving an old pickup truck, under the influence of alcohol, and rammed into a cop car that was stopped and yielding to other cars at a traffic circle. When the police officer got out to investigate, he found the woman intoxicated and at the wheel. She was also under the impression that she was in New Jersey, though the collision happened in East Greenbush, NY.

The driver was tested and found to have three times the legal blood-alcohol limit. Though authorities didn’t say if she had a history of alcohol abuse, it’s not normal behavior to drive drunk like that. Driving under the influence of alcohol is extremely dangerous, and this woman endangered not only her own life, but the lives of all the other drivers on the road. Everyone is lucky that the collision wasn’t worse. Though there is good news for those who suffer from alcohol abuse—a good program of treatment is still the best way to get clean.

If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol addiction or dependence, you should seek help now. Thankfully, there is good help available.
