Former NBA Star to Speak in Mount Olive Twp.

Former NBA star Chris Herren will share his story from rising to stardom in the NBA to his near death to drug addiction in a presentation titled, “Project Purple; The Herren Project.” This presentation will take place on Thursday, April 24th at the Mount Olive High School Performing Arts Center at 7pm. Herron played in the NBA from 1999-2001 for the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics. While with the Celtics, Herren started using prescription painkillers and in 2004 was charged with possession of heroin. After a near fatal car crash due to a heroin overdoes, Herren completed an intensive rehabilitation program and has been clean and sober since August 2008.
