Charlie Sheen’s Ex Leaves Rehab

Charlie Sheen’s Ex Leaves Rehab

Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s former wife and mother of their twin kids, was recently released from a drug rehab center in Aspen, Colorado following her December 2011 arrest. Brooke was formally charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of cocaine and misdemeanor offense of third degree assault stemming from her arrest in Aspen in December. Mueller’s representative was quoted as saying “After successfully completing an intensive three-month drug and alcohol treatment program, Brooke has returned to Los Angeles and has immediately begun an aggressive outpatient program that includes a sober companion.”

This story once again displays the rampant use of cocaine by celebrities and how it can ruin lives. Mueller is possibly facing the loss of custody to her former husband Charlie Sheen—who has displayed a very public drug abusing lifestyle. It’s quite sad if you think about their kids and the example that’s being set for them. Even though their kids are relatively young at this point, these stories are permanent and they’ll find about them someday. It’s been proven that drug or alcohol abuse by parents will influence their kids and consequently raises the chances that those kids will become alcoholics or drug addicts themselves. This trend has constantly been displayed in today’s society and unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere.

It actually is encouraging that Mueller is immediately beginning more rehabilitation after two months of inpatient rehab, and it’s a good example to set. Just completing the minimum amount of rehab will result in a minimal recovery.
