New Jersey Prison Nurse Steals Drugs

A nurse employed at New Jersey’s Edna Mahan Correctional Facility and Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility (both in Clinton) has been terminated and sentenced to 180 days’ jail for stealing pills from the prison pharmacies. The nurse pled guilty to the charges. She was also required to pay $842 in reimbursements and will be placed on two years’ probation. In all, she stole over 6,000 pills from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, both prescription and non-prescription.

It’s a sad day when a state like New Jersey can’t trust the people it employs in its prisons. Instead of protecting society from drug dealing and crime, this nurse was actually engaging in both.
