An Inside Job

Life is complicated and messy. Every day we are faced with others who make choices that we may disagree with. Too often, we allow the decisions of others to influence whether we will have a “good day”. When we expect others to behave and think a certain way, we set ourselves up for anger, disappointment and frustration. In the past, we have allowed our expectations of others to influence whether we can find happiness and contentment, whether those around us are making positive or healthy decisions. We now know, through fellowship and membership in a 12 Step Program, that we are responsible for our decisions and actions alone. Our happiness is our own responsibility. It takes time and effort, but most importantly a commitment to be open and willing to put recovery first. Our happiness is not defined by others; it is an inside job.

S.H.A.R.E (Seabrook Alumni Recovery Experience) is a program offered to alumni once they have completed treatment from Seabrook. We offer a variety of services to support our alumni on their recovery journey. S.H.A.R.E Alumni services offers a follow-up call program where phone calls are placed to alumni and their family members at various intervals during their first year of recovery. The follow-up call program is designed to keep alumni and their families connected with Seabrook and to offer additional support. Visit www.facebook.com/SeabrookAlumni for more info.
