Start Talking

It’s no secret that Ohio has been getting slammed with drug trafficking throughout the state, and it is growing to the point that the governor has announced the start of a new anti-drug initiative called Start Talking. Last year 800 Ohioans died of heroin overdoses and opioids kill more people in the state than traffic crashes. This is cause to start this program and get people in the know about how dangerous this has become in Ohio, amongst all of the United States.

The program includes: Know!: Free service for parents, tips on how to talking to children about drugs. Parents360 Rx: Education program about substance abuse. 5 Minutes for Life: Officers and Officials will lead conversations with student athletes to encourage them to talk to their peers. Building Young Resiliency: Grant program will help schools and non profits create tools to help students resist substance abuse and peer pressure. These all seem like great tools to begin the process of educating people about the true ugliness that is substance dependency.
