Dealing with Drug Addiction: Can Seabrook Help?

Dealing with Drug Addiction

Drug addiction can be a very dangerous and life threatening illness.  It can produce serious adverse health effects.  There are a few telltale signs of substance abuse.  These must occur at any time in the same 12-month period:

-Substance is often taken in larger amounts or over longer period than intended

-Persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control substance use

-A great deal of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain the substance (e.g., visiting multiple doctors or driving long distances), use the substance (e.g., chain smoking), or recover from its effects.

-Important social, occupational, or recreational activities given up or reduced because of substance abuse.

-Continued substance use despite knowledge of having a persistent or recurrent

-Psychological, or physical problem that is caused or exacerbated by use of the substance.

Drug abuse and addiction have implications to society such as family disintegration, loss of employment, failure in school, domestic violence, child abuse, and other crimes.  Drug addiction is a brain disease and can be very difficult for an individual to stop abusing drugs.  That is why the right combination of treatment medications and behavioral therapy is needed to full treat the illness and allow the individual to recover and live a life without drug abuse.   Seabrook can help you figure out the right sort of treatment that is specifically needed for you.  We’ll make sure you are getting all the treatment, care, and support that you need to be on the road to a full recovery.  With our main facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey (NJ) and our extended-care transitional rehab in Tioga County, Pennsylvania (PA), you’ll find the right kind of care to help you deal with your drug addiction.
