A South Jersey City Sees a Sudden Rise in Overdoses

Police report that there have been a large amount of overdoses in the South Jersey area, specifically the city of Camden, within the last week.

Over 30 people overdosed on heroin in Camden in the last seven days, six just on Sunday. Four were revived with use of the life-saving drug Narcan and unfortunately three of the overdoses were fatal.  Community members were warned last Wednesday when the overdoses began.

Police are unaware why there is a sudden rise in overdoses. Officers are asking anyone with information to contact police.
